an oversized vest that overlaps in the shorter front to allow for a ribbon closure, and separates towards a widening gap in the elongated back. it is made from fuzzy icelandic wool, in the sheep's natural brown color. the left front and both back panels have a sturdy, dry cotton/wool trim around the edges. besides an inside patch pocket, the vest features two large welted outside pockets. on the right one also is a small hook for attaching separate ornaments, like the ribbon rose or the braided ribbon from the river stone brooch.
